- Written for the Harp and Vocal Ensemble of the Cass Technical High School in Detroit, as part of his year as Ford Foundation composer-in-residence to the Detroit Public Schools. The harpists are separated from each by groupings of singers and percussion; the sounds "fly" between the groups, both in terms of location and timbre. Translations by Kenneth Rexroth
