Title
God of the
Expanding Universe
Year
1971
Instrumentation
for organ and electronic sounds
Notes
Commissioned by Alec Wyton, Director of Music at St. John the Divine in New York. Score consists entirely of a set of simple instructions. The organist depresses D in octaves, and pulls out a specific sequence of stops at specific intervals; the sounds that emerge from the organ grow from soft to loud to soft, and interact with the electronic sounds which move from high to low to high: a double axis.
