Title
Lontano
Year
1986
Instrumentation
for harp and piano
Notes
In composing Lontano (Italian: far away), Felciano was attracted to the common acoustical basis of the harp and the piano, most especially what the decay characteristics of plucked and struck strings imply about nearness and distance. While the vibrating may be similar, the mode of attack between the instruments is vastly different, providing an evolving dialectic.
Reviews
